New Persona 6 leak gives weight to “that” Atlus paint bucket trick

The Persona 6 leak The machine is running at full speed again as we are (hopefully) close to the inevitable reveal of the next installment in the hit series by developer Atlus. According to a new report Persona 6 goes green in the color scheme – a theme that was first hinted at two years ago. Additionally, the new RPG is said to have been in the oven since 2019, giving more hope for a possible announcement in 2024 PS5 And Xbox.

“The color theme for Persona 6 is green,” announced reputable leaker Midori via Twitter. Each entry in the RPG game series is typically dedicated to a specific color palette. For example, Persona 3 Reload is predominantly blue, while Persona 5 Royal contains heavy red and black.

During Persona's 25th anniversary celebration, Atlus unveiled a clever piece of art that featured each game's protagonists splattered with paint. The most common coloring in each game is particularly striking: Makoto (P3R) is sprayed blue and Joker (P5R) is correspondingly reddened. However, one important detail that quickly became a source of mass speculation is the bucket of green paint that sits in the corner of the picture – a bucket of green paint that, as it turns out, is significant after all.

“That’s the shade of green used in P6,” Midori says, all but confirming that Atlus has been teasing us all along. We know Xbox gamers have enjoyed the benefits of recent releases added to the Game Pass games roster from day one, but Atlus' fondness for Team Green is now clearly undeniable (For legal reasons this is a joke).

It makes sense that Atlus would start releasing little Easter eggs for the new PS5 game and the new Xbox game, considering it's supposedly been cooking for half a decade. At least that's what Midori says. With Metaphor: ReFantazio and Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance set to release this year, finally revealing Persona 6 would be the icing on the cake of a huge year for the developer.
