Lucie Stern's Palo Alto home, which made history with the highest price in 2015, is selling for $30.7 million

This week, a 4,721-square-foot Spanish Colonial home that famed Palo Alto architect Birge Clark built for Levi Strauss heiress Lucie Stern in 1932 sold for $30.7 million in Old Palo Alto. Clark, whose red tile roofs, stucco walls, arches and wrought iron details defined the emerging city's early streetscape, built the three-bedroom, five-bath house next to Stern's private home so that her disabled daughter Ruth could live next door. The home made history in 2015 when it sold for $30 million, becoming the largest home purchase in Palo Alto at the time.
