The Philadelphia Eagles welcome FSU football standout cornerback Jarrian Jones for a visit

Florida State has many former athletes in the NFL draft process. The number of talent from last season expected to play this fall Sunday shows just how talented the Seminoles were in their 13-1 ACC Championship winning season.

One of those players who got a lot of buzz before the draft is cornerback Jarrian Jones, who spent four seasons in Tallahassee after playing one season at Mississippi State.

Accordingly, the 1.80 meter tall, 190 pound cornerback will take an official top 30 visit to the Philadelphia Eagles Andrew DiCecco. The Florida State product is rightfully popular.

The progress Jones has made year after year in Tallahassee has not gone under the radar. He was named Florida State's Defensive Player of the Year in both 2022 and 2023.

After allowing five touchdown passes in 2021, he has been a lockdown corner ever since, allowing zero touchdowns over the past two seasons. His pass coverage rating was one of the best in the country last season.

Jones recorded five interceptions, 15 passes defensed, 84 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 44 games. His most productive season was last season, where he intercepted three passes and recorded five tackles for loss while playing in the slot.

While Jones has demonstrated his versatility and ability to both improve and adapt on the football field, he is also an athletic prospect. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds and achieved a vertical of 39.5 inches.

It's likely that Jones will be drafted later on the second or early third day and the Eagles will have a fourth-round pick, three fifth-round picks and a sixth-round pick. Jones could be a versatile defensive player that they could use in a variety of ways, making him a safe late-round pick.
