FIU outfielder wants to play for the Woodchucks in 2024

Wausau, WI – Austin Dearing, an outfielder from FIU, has signed with the Wausau Woodchucks for the summer of 2024.

Dearing began his college career at Marshall University before transferring to the State College of Florida. There he recorded 42 hits, including 10 doubles and 2 triples, and scored 33 runs and 18 RBIs in his second season.

Dearing started this spring at FIU with a .343 batting average with 12 hits, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs total. His standout game so far this season was against Miami, where he had three hits, including a home run, and scored two runs.

Opening day for the Wausau Woodchucks' 2024 season is Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, at Athletic Park in Wausau. The first 500 fans 18 and older will receive a hat sponsored by the Wisconsin Lottery. Half-time and full-time tickets as well as ticket packages, group tickets and hospitality areas are now on sale. Single game tickets will go on sale later this spring.
