Ryan Reynolds finds 'the coolest way to watch football' as the Wrexham owner watches him win the Hollywood way

RYAN REYNOLDS found “the coolest way to watch football” as he oversaw Wrexham’s recent win in true Hollywood style.

Canadian actor Reynolds, 47, is co-owner of the Welsh football club with American comedian Rob McElhenney, 46.

The pair bought Wrexham in 2021 and took them from National League purgatory to the brink of League One glory.

They are currently second in League Two, four points behind leaders Stockport and are on course for back-to-back promotions.

Wrexham's most recent win saw them beat Crawley Town 4-1 at home on Tuesday.

And even though Reynolds was across the pond, he made sure to follow every second of the action.

However, in his classic comedic style, the Deadpool star did things in his trademark hilarious way.

Streaming the game on a laptop or even a TV wasn't great enough for Reynolds while he was working on the set of his latest film.

And with a huge green screen behind him, he couldn't resist broadcasting Wrexham's game on the giant projector.

Reynolds and his team watched as the Welsh team celebrated their 23rd win of the season.

He looked in love as the game continued to play behind him while he was surrounded by various parts of the Hollywood machine.

And Reynolds captioned the moment: “Watching the Wrexham game at work: new level unlocked.”

It's not clear what project Reynolds was working on at the time, as the actor is currently developing several new films, including sequels to the smash hits “Free Guy” and “Red Notice.”

Speaking in February, Reynolds admitted he couldn't imagine life without football and Wrexham.

He told the Yours, Mine, Away podcast: “I say this without any twists and turns. It is the greatest experience of my life and full of strange and unexpected horrors, but it is the greatest.

“It's just about being part of something and the fact that Rob and I were welcomed into those brave and uncynical arms is something I'll never forget. It's part of my DNA now.

“What I think I love most is when you go to the stadium. The stadium now has 12,400 people wearing the temporary Kop and I recognize many of them.”

“If you've seen the amount of emails and text messages I get every day that are all about Wrexham matters, it just never stops. It's incredibly stressful.

“But we're constantly talking about staff, ways to improve, ways to grow this club, ways to connect the club even more to the community.

“So when I go into the locker room, I'm a little geeked out too. If this was a drug we would all be a mess.”
