Google Vids helps you create work videos using AI

Google announced a variety of AI features at Cloud Next 2024, most of which are aimed at improving its Workspace suite. One of the notable new launches is Google Vids. Google calls it a Video, writing, production and editing assistant this will soon be available as a workspace app. Here's everything you need to know about it.

The main purpose of the function is to do the following: Content such as team reviews, announcements, training videosand more with generative AI. Once the option is available, users can click on the “Help me make a video” prompt. They can then describe what they want to create with a clear goal, the audience they are targeting, and the video length. You can also link other files and Vids will generate snippets that you can rearrange.

Users are asked to choose a video style from a selection of styles, and once they're done, Vids puts everything together to create a “draft with suggested scenes from stock videos, images, and background music.” Videos will also help you with the voiceover process if you decide to do so Add your own voice. You can also choose one AI preset voice if you want to skip the work.

As for when to launch Google Vids in Workspace, Google says it will consider feedback from the initial launch and then decide whether it's worth making Vids generally available. The first tests and The rollout begins in June this year.

Videos will be available as a web app alongside Docs, Slides, Sheets and Slides with an “easy to use” and collaborative interface.
