Result and current updates from the Champions League

Paris St-Germain vs Barcelona is a Champions League quarter-final between two struggling but talented teams who have found themselves on the right side of the draw.

More goals are expected following the 3-3 draw between Real Madrid and Manchester City and the 2-2 draw between Arsenal and Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Both PSG and Barcelona are struggling with some injury problems. Luis Enrique, who led Barcelona to Champions League success in 2015, will be without right-back Achraf Hakimi and defender Presnel Kimpembe. This could mean that the hugely impressive teenage midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery could take over the full-back position. PSG were able to use Marquinhos, Kylian Mbappe, Vitinha and Ousmane Dembele on the bench for this weekend's draw against Clermont. Mbappe is, of course, expected to move to Barcelona's arch-rivals Real Madrid this summer.

Barcelona have not lost a game since losing 5-3 to Villarreal in January and are the strongest team in La Liga on expected goal difference, although they trail Real in the title race. Xavi, who will step down as coach at the end of the season, will be without key midfielders Gavi and Pedri, while Ilkay Gündogan is a doubt. Former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen was deployed in midfield. Barcelona's 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal has made the right side of the attack his own, while Raphinha has moved to the left in support of center forward Robert Lewandowski.

Every Champions League game between these two clubs brings back memories of “La Remontada” 2017, when Barcelona came from 4-0 down after the first leg to defeat a Unai Emery-coached PSG 6-5 on aggregate. Barcelona trailed 5-3 on aggregate until the 88th minute of the second leg at the Nou Camp before Neymar struck twice and Sergi Roberto scored the winner in the 95th minute. PSG responded by buying Neymar for £190 million in the summer – a transfer that changed the landscape of European football.
