How to watch The Diamond League Xiamen 2024

The Diamond League Xiamen 2024 will take place on April 20 in Xiamen, China and is the start of the 2024 Wanda Diamond League season, which will last until mid-September, with a short break for the 2024 Summer Olympics in early August.

The day in Xiamen includes seven men's disciplines and eight women's disciplines as athletes begin collecting points for the final event of the year in Belgium.

The invitation-only Diamond League brings together the best track and field athletes to showcase their skills, earn prize money, earn points towards the season-ending championship event and ultimately elevate the status of track and field around the world.

Traditionally, the Diamond League competition includes 16 disciplines. Points earned in the first 14 events of the season determine which athletes advance to the final event, where they compete for more prize money and Diamond League titles.

The disciplines presented in Xiamen are:

Men

  • 100 meters
  • 800 meters
  • 5,000 meters
  • 110 meter hurdles
  • high jump
  • Pole vault
  • Triple jump

Women

  • 200 metres
  • 400 meters
  • 1,500 meters
  • 100 meter hurdles
  • 3,000 meter steeplechase
  • Shot put
  • discus
  • Javelin throw

All competitions will take place at the Xiamen Olympic Sports Center – Egret Stadium. The 2024 event marks a return of the Diamond League to Xiamen, which hosted an event in September 2023.

How to watch The Diamond League Xiamen 2024

For audiences in the United States, Peacock will provide a live broadcast of the one-day season-opening event, and the action will begin at 6 a.m. Eastern Time.

Diamond League streaming on FloTrack in 2025

In a major announcement on April 10, FloTrack announced that it will expand its five-star live content plan by broadcasting the Wanda Diamond League to US viewers and territories starting in 2025.

FloSports, the global sports media company and operator of FloTrack, signed a multi-year media rights deal with the Wanda Diamond League to broadcast the world's top athletics competitions, including events in London, Monaco, Stockholm and Rome, among others.

“As a former track and field athlete, I founded FloSports to cover the sport I love so much,” said Mark Floreani, CEO of FloSports. “With the Diamond League now being the home of the world’s most important athletics events – outside of the Olympic Games – is very important to me.”

What is the Diamond League schedule for 2024?

The 2024 season, the 15th edition of the Diamond League, will start a little earlier and the overall winners will be determined over two days in Brussels, Belgium.

The disruption to the schedule below from late July to late August is due to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The athletics events there are scheduled to take place from August 1st to 11th.

Based on previous publications, the schedule for the 2025 season will be announced at the end of September 2024.
