Orioles' Jackson Holliday plays second base in MLB debut

It's the day Orioles fans have been waiting for.

Jackson Holliday, the consensus No. 1 prospect in baseball, plays second base and bats ninth in his MLB debut Wednesday night against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on MASN.

Holliday, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, joins shortstop Gunnar Henderson and catcher Adleyrutschman as current or former top prospects on the Orioles roster, continuing a historic run for the farm system. Since Baseball America began ranking prospects in 1990, Baltimore is the first organization to have three players in a row.
