Maidaan X review: Ajay Devgn is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood and there is no doubt about it. After winning hearts with Vikas Bahl's 'Shaitaan', a psychological thriller, Ajay is now making headlines with his latest film 'Maidaan', which happens to be a sports drama. Directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan is based on Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering football coach who revolutionized football in India.

Under Rahim's leadership, India had won two gold medals between 1952 and 1962. Notably, Maidaan Ajay played the role of football coach opposite Priyamani while Gajraj Rao played the role of an antagonist. Produced by Boney Kapoor, Maidaan received rave reviews from the audience and fans were impressed with Ajay's spectacular performance. Interestingly, Maidaan marks Ajay's first collaboration with Priyamani and second with Gajraj Rao after Bholaa.

As Maidaan hits theaters, social media is abuzz with tweets celebrating the Amit Sharma directorial. On microblogging site Twitter, a Twitter user wrote, “#Maidaan ~ MASTERPIECE!! A national award worthy performance from the legend @ajaydevgn @iAmitRSharma deserves every praise for delivering another gem. Special mention goes to @Raogajraj, you were too good in the negative role. People have been clapping and cheering for the last 25 minutes. [4.5/5]”

Another user tweeted, “#Maidaan is another masterpiece that joins #chakdeindia in the list of best sports films ever made in India. #AjayDevgn is an artist, a performer who is simply outstanding at evoking emotions. The interconnected plot, drama and emotions are well embedded in a heartwarming climax. “Must watch #MaidaanReview.”

It should be noted that Maidaan will be facing off against Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan at the box office and fans were excited to see which film will win at the box office. Meanwhile, speaking about the clash, Ajay said, “Firstly, I don’t want to call it a clash. If you call it a clash, then in your language I wouldn't want two films to be released at the same time. However.” “There are certain commitments due to which the films are scheduled to be released.” It will be interesting to see if Bade Miyan Chote can beat Miyan Maidaan at the box office upon release.
