Dwayne Johnson rocks his '90s fanny pack and mom jeans for a new Christmas message

Dwayne Johnson has posted an embarrassing '90s photo of himself for little fun and lots of publicity over the years.

He originally posted the image on Facebook in 2014 with the caption: “Bum bag and lean take it to a whole other level.”

In 2016, Johnson posted an illustration of his Moana character rocking the look, writing, “When MAUI (my #MOANA character) decides to rock his leather fanny pack with ease and confidence – like a true wild man.”

In 2017, he recreated the look (minus the poodle hairstyle) to promote himself SNL Host a gig.

In 2019, Johnson's co-star Kevin Hart channeled the look for Halloween to promote her Jumanji: The Next Level.

This year, Johnson recreated the look to wish the world a Merry Christmas, singing a more pedestrian version of “Chestnuts Roasting on a Roasting Fire.” He called the outfit “90s rock.”

When he was named People “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2016, Johnson explained that he put a tissue under his elbow when taking the original photo “because I felt like my turtleneck was expensive.”

He also admitted: “The funniest thing about this picture is [that] that's no joke. I left the house like that. For example: “Hey baby, that’s it.” ItRight?'”
