Best MLB bets for Saturday April 13th

We love that Phillies -1.5 (+135) against the Pirates, as Spencer Turnbull has been great from the start this season and Pittsburgh has only scored nine runs total in the last three games. After starting the season 2-4, the Phillies went 5-3 in their last eight games.

Our favorite money line: the Astros (-150) against the Rangers. Reigning AL Pitcher of the Week Ronel Blanco has yet to give up a run in two starts this season and threw the first no-hitter of the 2024 season last week against the Blue Jays. The Texas lineup obviously presents a far more demanding game than Toronto, so we'll take the money line over the run line – but we can't see Blanco being overtaken by Andrew Heaney, who has allowed seven earned runs in 8.1 innings this season.

We go UNDER 8.5 to the White Sox-Twins game (-115), as Garrett Crochet was outstanding in three appearances (4 ER and 21 Ks to 18 IP) for Chicago and the South Siders have scored the fewest runs in the majors this season. Nick Lodolo's first start in a year has us a little nervous (the left-hander was diagnosed last year with calf tendonitis and then a stress reaction in his tibia, which led to a long-term IL stay). But Cincy wouldn't roll the promising southpaw if he wasn't ready, and the ChiSox are a great lineup for him in his return.
