Final regular season records, seeds and bracket

The Oklahoma City Thunder secured first place in the Western Conference on the final day of the NBA season.

Oklahoma City beat the reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves and secured home advantage in the West playoffs.

Sunday's results also confirmed three playoff games in each conference as well as the four play-in games that will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Phoenix Suns got the most significant result to avoid the play-in round on Sunday.

Phoenix's win over Minnesota combined with the New Orleans Pelicans' loss to the Los Angeles Lakers moved Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Co. to No. 6 in the West.

Due to the Lakers' win in New Orleans, the Pelicans and Lakers will face off again on Tuesday.

There was no change at the East entry points on Sunday. The Indiana Pacers remained in the top six, while the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat narrowly missed out, ending up in the play-in round.

9.Chicago (39-42)

10. Atlanta (36-46)

Indiana and Orlando avoided the play-in round with wins on Sunday.

The Pacers scored 157 points in a blowout win over the Atlanta Hawks, while the Magic beat the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee Bucks.

Those two wins kept the Sixers at No. 7 overall. For Joel Embiid and Co. that meant a home game against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat on Wednesday, with a shot against the New York Knicks on the line.

Thanks to Milwaukee's home defeat, New York moved up to second place. The Knicks and Bucks are the two highest seeded teams on their side. Milwaukee will face Indiana in the first round.

The Boston Celtics will be the last East team to know their first-round opponent. They will face the winner of Friday's play-in final.

The loser of Philadelphia-Miami will face the winner of Chicago-Atlanta on Friday. The Bulls host the No. 9 vs. No. 10 face the Hawks on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City made its biggest shift at the top of the standings on Sunday.

The Thunder have home advantage in the West playoffs, but could face a dangerous No. 8 seed.

The Lakers, Kings and Warriors are ranked eighth through 10th in the West and all three could make it to No. 8.

New Orleans hopes it doesn't have to worry about the No. 8 seed on Friday. The Pelicans have a second chance against the Lakers at home in the play-in round on Tuesday.

The Pelicans are in this position because they lost the head-to-head tiebreaker to the Suns.

Phoenix is arguably the biggest winner of Sunday's games, avoiding the play-in round and setting up a first-round matchup against a Minnesota team it just beat on Sunday.

The Suns beat the Wolves twice in April and three times this season. Because of this, they will likely be the top seeds selected to advance from the opening round.
