Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect Ludvig Aberg's finish at the Masters

Ludvig Aberg doesn't play like a newcomer at the Masters.

Building on a strong third round on Saturday in which he shot 2 under par, the 24-year-old Aberg took second place at the 2024 Masters Tournament with a total of seven under par. He trailed only world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who won his second Masters in three years.

“I think we did a lot of things very well this week, especially today,” Ludvig told CBS' Amanda Balionis of his performance this week. “I came out and was very nervous, obviously shaking on the first tee shot. But these are all things that I enjoy doing, and we said, 'It's a privilege to do all these shots out here, and it's a privilege to be a part of it.' This position.'”

This is Aberg's first trip to Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters, as the Swedish golfer turned professional in June 2023. He placed second at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and eighth at the Players Championship in March. He has one victory on the PGA Tour, winning the 2023 RSM Classic with a score of 29 under par, four shots ahead of runner-up Mackenzie Hughes.

According to the CBS broadcast, Aberg is at 9 under on the front nine during the week at Augusta National, but is playing above average on the back nine at two over par. Here's everything you need to know about Aberg and his runner-up finish at the 2024 Masters Tournament:
