The film with the “most shocking ending ever” airs on TV tonight

Anyone who has seen the film will know what we are talking about.

Our TV film selection for tonight (Monday April 15th) is The fogthe film adaptation of Stephen King's 2007 novella of the same name.

It centers on a man named David (Thomas Jane) who goes into town with his young son to collect food and supplies after a violent storm damages their home in Maine.

During their journey, however, thick fog rolls in and engulfs the city – leaving father and son and several others trapped in a supermarket.

“Terror increases as deadly creatures reveal themselves outside, but that may be nothing compared to the threat within, where a zealot (Marcia Gay Harden) calls for sacrifice,” the plot synopsis reads.

The film version of “The Mist” was adapted for the screen by writer-director Frank Darabont – who also directed the popular King adaptations “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile” as well as the pilot for “The Walking Dead” – and is an incredible expansion of the source material.

This is most evident in the final moments, where the film replaces the original story's ambiguous ending with a much more definitive climax.

And while we don't want to give away what exactly happens, JOE previously called the ending “incredibly shocking,” adding that it “left everyone who saw it reeling from the theater in disbelief.”
