How to watch the 2024 US Olympic Wrestling Trials

The US Olympic Wrestling Trials for the Paris Games will be broadcast live peacock and USA Network on Friday and Saturday from Penn State University.

The winners of 13 of the 18 weight classes in men's and women's freestyle and men's Greco-Roman qualify for the Paris Olympics.

The other five winners in classes that have not yet qualified for Paris will qualify for a final international Olympic qualifying tournament in May in Turkey.

The Trials Format: A single-elimination challenge tournament will be held in each weight class on Friday to advance wrestlers to Saturday's best-of-three final series in each division.

The first rounds will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. The Challenge tournament semifinals and finals will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m

On Saturday, the early session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. includes the first game of the best-of-three finals in the 13 weight classes already qualified for the Olympics, as well as the first two games of the best-of-three finals in the five classes that have not yet qualified for the Olympics. Consolation games are also played.

The late session on Saturday – 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. – will host the second games in the 13 classes already qualified for the Olympics and, if necessary, third games in all 18 classes.

Many stars opted out of Saturday's final because their weight helped secure the U.S. an Olympic quota spot – those who won a medal at the 2023 World Championships at an Olympic weight or who made it to the final of this year's Pan American Olympic qualifiers have managed.

Wrestlers bowed out for Saturday's final include reigning Olympic and world champion David Taylor (86kg) and 2016 Olympic champion Kyle Snyder (97kg) in the men's freestyle, as well as the Olympic champion in the women's freestyle from 2016, Helen Maroulis (57kg), and six-time world champion Adeline Gray (76kg).

A headliner on Friday is 2012 Olympic gold medalist and six-time world champion Jordan Burroughs, who at age 35 may be competing in his final trials.

Burroughs has had a bye to the Olympic Trials finals in 2012, 2016 and 2021. This time he must pass the Friday Challenge tournament to face Kyle Dake, who has a bye to the finals on Saturday after losing at won silver at the 2023 World Championships.

At the Tokyo Olympics, Dake beat Burroughs in the final and made the team. This ended Burroughs' streak of making every Olympic and world team since 2011.
