Anfernee Crease is moving from SMU Mustangs to Kentucky Football

As the football spring is now coming to an end, there will be renewed movement in recruiting and the transfer portal.

The Kentucky Wildcats just landed another commitment for the 2024 season, and one they desperately needed.

On Monday, junior college offensive tackle Anfernee Crease switched his commitment from SMU to Kentucky, he announced on Twitter.

A product of Navarro College in Texas, Crease is an unranked class of 2024 with additional scholarship offers from Houston, Colorado, UCF, Oregon State, Western Kentucky, South Florida and Syracuse, among others.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Crease committed to SMU on April 3 but has opted to play for Kentucky instead. He officially attended school on April 12 and has three years of eligibility remaining. His main recruiter was Kentucky offensive line coach Eric Wolford.

Kentucky will rely heavily on Marques Cox to hold down the left tackle spot next season while Courtland Ford and Gerald Mincey compete for the right tackle spot. But after those three, there's virtually no proven depth left. That's why it was imperative for Kentucky to add at least one more tackle, although I would say there's a chance they'll try to add one more before fall camp begins.
