The video shows an “inappropriate and disturbing interaction” with the teacher

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools student is under investigation after a “disturbing video of an inappropriate and disturbing interaction” between a student and a teacher began circulating on social media.

The district said it is aware of the video and is investigating the incident.

“This behavior will not be tolerated,” said WS/FCS Superintendent Tricia McManus. “At no time is it acceptable for students to attack a teacher in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

“My focus now is on ensuring our teacher is cared for and receives the support she needs to deal with the lasting effects of this incident.”

Parkland High School Principal Keener called families after the incident.

“I am calling to let you know that today our administration was made aware of a disturbing video of an inappropriate and disturbing interaction between a student and a teacher that was shared on social media,” he said in the call. “The student involved in the video will face disciplinary action in accordance with district policies and procedures. The student may also be subject to criminal prosecution.”
