The city is working to repair the water leak on Oak Way

The City of Banks has been working since early Tuesday morning to repair a water leak on Oak Way in the Arbor Village development.

The city had known there was a leak since at least April 8 and had originally scheduled repairs for April 18 and 19, but then the problem suddenly worsened.

“It gave way at 1:30 this morning,” City Clerk and Assistant City Manager Angie Lanter said in an email to the Banks Post.

City public works officials are working to repair the leak on NW Oak Way between Devonmoor Avenue and Groveshire Avenue, and 13 homes are without water.

“Please use caution when driving in this area,” the city urged.

Affected homes, all notified through door hangers and phone calls, will be notified with water boils until the city can repair the leak, take a water sample to the lab and receive positive results. This process is expected to be completed by mid-morning or early afternoon on Wednesday, April 17th.

These households will be notified by telephone when the boil water notice has been lifted.
