FOX 17 obtained court documents outlining the case against Catledge.

As officers searched the crime scene for evidence, they learned that the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers, “I shot once and ran” and “I panicked.” The caller claimed he had been attacked and his father was hit with a brick. Police later took Catledge into custody and identified him as the 911 caller.

Investigators later determined that Catledge and Clark first had an altercation at a nearby liquor store. Surveillance video shows Catledge and his father arriving in a car before the father enters the store. A short time later, Clark came in and asked the elder Catledge who was in the vehicle.

The camera captured Clark approaching Catledge's vehicle and asking why he had pointed a gun at him the week before. Clark reportedly punched Dayshaun at one point and sprayed him with pepper spray before throwing an object at his father.

Police say the footage shows Clark running away while Catledge chases him. Both men disappeared from view of the camera before a single shot was heard.

Catledge reportedly runs back to his father and says, “I just shot him.” The two then drove west on Hall Street.

Investigators say Catledge's response to their questions reflected what was recorded by the cameras. He reportedly told police that he and Clark had an argument in the backyard of a home on Lafayette Avenue. Catledge claims Clark made a comment about his gun during the fight. Catledge told officers he was able to disconnect and pull his gun from his waistband. He reportedly told investigators he fired one shot and ran.

Catledge's next court date is scheduled for April 23.
