What do we know about Wes Anderson's new film?

A report from World of Reel states that the film may have the working title “The Phoenician Scheme.” While plot details remain under wraps at this time, Anderson has previously described his new film as a “spy” thriller centered around a father-daughter relationship.

Speaking to Deadline in September 2023, Anderson said he had just finished writing the script for his new film when the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike began in May 2023. “Roman Coppola and I had been working on a script. So when the time is right again, we have to make a film with Benicio Del Toro.”

Anderson also revealed that Arrested Development and Barbie's Michael Cera will have a role in the film. “Well, you know, we have Michael Cera,” he said. “He is one of the other characters in this new story. And he's someone I probably met almost 20 years ago. At least 18 years ago, something like that. I met him with Harvey Keitel, so it must have been 2008 or something. But whatever, Michael Cera. That's one.”

A release date for Anderson's new film has not yet been set.
