Valorant players are disappointed with the new Switchback skin bundle

The new skin bundle in Valorant, Switchback, has become the subject of criticism from fans, calling it a battle pass-like collection.

Valorant patch 8.07 brings a variety of fixes for existing agents and their bugs. Clove returns to esports after a brief trip to the workshop, and Omen can now interact with other usable items such as doors in From the Shadows (X) shadow form without having to cancel the ability. Additionally, a new bundle has also been added to the game.

Switchback is the latest Valorant bundle coming to the store with patch 8.07. Although it looks pretty decent, some players are downright underwhelmed.

Since Switchback is a Select tier package, it makes sense that it doesn't contain any over-the-top embellishments or animations. With a sleek orange and white exterior, the weapons are simple and add a touch of color to your inventory. While the skins are simple, there is a subtle pattern running across the body that is reminiscent of the Prime bundle.

Switchback comes for:

  • Classic
  • phantom
  • Marshal
  • Stinger
  • A melee

The skins are flowery enough for a select tier, but players feel Riot should stop producing battle pass-style skins. There is something true. Select tier skins, including Switchback, bear more similarities to cheap and basic Battle Pass skins than other paid cosmetics in Valorant. At least the bunch's melee combat is slick.

“This will be the next skin to hit the night market and no one wants it,” said one Valorant fan on X.

However, the selection level is set to minimal skins with no animation, so it's unlikely that criticism of Switchback will have an impact on Riot's skin production decisions.
