Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia: Round-by-round live updates

MMA Fighting will feature Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia live, round-by-round on one of the most anticipated boxing matches of the year on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY

Haney (31-0, 15 knockouts) is making his first appearance this year after earning unanimous decision victories over Regis Prograis and Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2023.

Garcia (24-1, 20 knockouts) suffered the first loss of his career against Gervonta Davis (by seventh-round TKO) in April 2023, but rebounded last December to defeat Oscar Duarte by eighth-round TKO.

We're just moments away from Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia finally entering the ring.

Garcia made an incredibly dramatic entrance that matched his bizarre behavior leading up to fight night. His performance begins with a clip from Jesus leaves by Kanye West. Again, fitting for anyone who's been keeping up with his recent escapades. The music goes over to El Rey by Vicente Fernandez. He takes off an incredibly expensive looking crown before stepping through the ropes.

Now it's time for Devin Haney's performance. He holds the WBC super lightweight title, which is no longer at stake after Garcia lost three pounds in weight. He's after it Redrum by 21 Savage. And after all the talk, this fight is actually happening.

Round 1: The bigger Garcia immediately takes center stage. Haney works to prevent the ring from being cut off. Garcia punches hard as Haney runs around in circles. A left hand hurts Haney! Haney quickly manages to get the win. Let's see if he's recovered. More power punches from Garcia. Haney is in survival mode early. Another clinch and the pace has finally slowed. Haney sits back and looks for his jab. Jab to the body of Haney. He recovered well in the second half of the round, but what a start from Garcia.

Round 2: This time Haney was the first to strike. He's determined not to let Garcia call the shots this time. Quick punches from Haney upstairs. His keyword is money. Looking to the right of Haney. Garcia doesn't throw much, just waits for the right time to throw a powerful punch. Right hand from Haney, then another. Garcia tied up Haney a few times, but other than that he didn't show much in this round.

Round 3: Overhand right from Haney scores. Garcia chases with a left hand, but Haney gets under it now. There is a left wing of Haney that supports Garcia. A wrestling match ensues and Garcia complains about a low blow on the counterattack. Lightning fast jab from Haney. Garcia is simply missing now. Left hand from Haney trips Garcia and Garcia looks CRAZY. Haney is in control.

Round 4: Haney's feints completely confuse Garcia. Haney with a body shot. This Haney vaccination is causing all sorts of problems for Garcia. Garcia's left hand cracks. There's a solid right from Garcia. There is a lot to decide between these big moments. Haney stabs the corpse. Garcia circles and circles and circles. Another punch to the body from Haney.

Round 5: Haney ducks all of Garcia's heavy combos. Sharp body shot from Haney. He settles for stabbing the midsection until Garcia gets to him. Garcia goes right into a counterattack. Haney owns the center of the ring. He cocked his right hand and Garcia completely froze. Mockery from the crowd. Haney goes straight for a haystack, but Garcia just ties him up. Left hook for Haney.

Round 6: Garcia shows signs of life. He lands a good shot in the middle of a wild hustle, but that definitely woke up the crowd. Haney is on the hunt again. Right hand for Haney. Jab from Haney as he corners Garcia. He starts pushing and the referee warns him about a shot to Garcia's back. Haney argues that Garcia is turning his back on him. More inactivity causes the crowd to boo again. Garcia jumps off the ropes but can't do much.

Round 7: Garcia slings this lefty outside without any setup. And one lands! Garcia follows with a right and it's a knockdown! Wow! Haney's turn, but maybe he's still on skates. Garcia applies pressure and Haney has to tie him up. The referee takes a point away from Garcia because he hit on the counterattack. Wild sequence. Garcia lands again and Haney looks hurt. He falls to his knees, but the referee says it's not a knockdown. He stumbles around and Garcia knocks him to the ground again. What. Is. Event. Haney is literally clinging on for dear life with about a minute left. Garcia's hands are down and he's just daring Haney to open up. Somehow we get to the eighth. Breathe, everyone.

Round 8: Garcia was right back on the attack. Haney doesn't avoid these punches cleanly. Whatever Garcia does, it works. Right hand punch from Garcia. Haney pounds away at the body as Garcia continues to turn almost completely away from him. Another body shot from Haney lands. He's back to chasing Garcia to the corner. Straight to the body of Haney. Good right hands from Haney. Catch-up for the champion.

Round 9: There was no start from Garcia in this round. It's Haney who immediately closes the distance. A Haney makes Garcia duck. Left hand from Haney on the button. Garcia throws almost nothing. Haney with a right hand. A pair of left hooks connects for Haney. Garcia finally lets his hands go with an uppercut, getting Haney's attention. Garcia throws hard. Too little too late?

Round 10: Haney hits Garcia again, but he almost pays when Garcia fights back with powerful punches. Garcia doesn't let up and rocks Haney again. There's another knockdown! What a truly bizarre fight. Once we're back on our feet, we grab and hold some more of Haney. The referee warns both of them against excessive holding. There's a lot of skill involved here. A hammering left hook from Garcia freezes Haney, but he manages to stay upright. Monster round for Garcia, who lands two more right hands. Body shots of Haney. No idea how the finals will turn out.

Round 11: Garcia accompanies Haney down, he's hungry for the finish. Haney supports him and takes control of the ring again. Garcia scores with his right as he advances. He follows with a left hook and Haney ties him up. Right hand from Garcia. Another clean right for Garcia. The left hand places Haney's butt! He answers the count. There is less than a minute left in this round. Haney gets caught up in a sloppy exchange. Anything can happen now.

Round 12: Haney is adventurous with his punches, but that could cause him problems. Finally he turns back to his thrust. Two more minutes. Garcia narrowly misses his left hook. Right hand for Garcia. Haney stabs. A Garcia jab! I didn't see much of that in this fight. Garcia shows up in there, shaking his shoulders and daring Haney to attack. Haney stabs. Garcia sticks his tongue out like a lizard. I don't know.
