Jennifer Lopez sets the record straight on 'The View' after Alyssa Farah Griffin asks about her matching Valentine's Day tattoos with Ben Affleck: 'We don't have that!'

She's still Jenny from the block! Jennifer Lopez took a quick look at Alyssa Farah Griffin on this morning's episode The view after the co-host suggested she get matching tattoos with her husband Ben Affleck.

Lopez appeared at the Hot Topics table to promote her album and film This is me… now: A love storywhich loosely documents the singer's love life and her reunion with Affleck.

Since tonight's episode originally aired the day after Valentine's Day, Griffin couldn't help but wonder how Hollywood's “It” couple celebrated.

“I understand that Valentine's Day is one of your favorite holidays and last year you and Ben got matching tattoos, which is adorable,” Griffin began, before Lopez immediately stepped in to stop her and said, “No, we don't have matching ones.” Get tattoos!”

The actress continued: “I got one. I don’t have one for – did I get it for Valentine’s Day? I don't even remember now. There’s so much going on, I forget what’s happening!”

Griffin walked back her previous statement and instead said that they had “compatible tattoos” before asking what they did to celebrate this year.

(Editor's note: The view is currently on hiatus; contrary to what you may have heard, The view was not canceled today. This article was originally published on January 15, 2024, when this episode first aired. The view will be back with new episodes next week.)

“Did you get a piercing?” Sara Haines joked, to which Lopez replied, “No! For me, getting a tattoo in the first place was a big deal.” (Considering Affleck has a huge back tattoo, we think this proves that opposites really do attract.)

While Wedding planner Star was busy promoting her new projects, she and Affleck were still able to spend some quality time together, she said.

“We had the premiere the night before [Valentine’s Day] And then we kind of left on our own and I had to drive to New York in the morning to get here,” she said. “But we were able to spend some time together, which was nice.”

Lopez and Affleck first met in the early 2000s before splitting in 2004. While they went their separate ways for several years, they eventually found their way back together as they rekindled their romance in 2021 and officially tied the knot in 2022.

“I just felt like people were thinking, 'Oh, this is a fairy tale, this is the story of me and Ben.' But it’s not that,” Lopez said of her new film. “It's something completely different. It's more about the journey – like how I got from here to there. And you know what? It was'nt easy. It was very difficult at times.”

The view airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
