North Korean defector author wins libel lawsuit over sex crime allegations

A prominent North Korean defector and author has won a defamation lawsuit against another defector who accused him of sexual crimes and a South Korean broadcaster that covered her story, court documents reviewed NK News show.

The Supreme Court last month upheld a ruling that bound defector Seung Sol-hyang and her husband, as well as the broadcaster MBC and his reporter to jointly pay US$29,000 (40 million won) plus interest to author Jang Jin-sung.
