Omar Jimenez, 17, of Beaumont, was charged April 10 with possession of child pornography and possession with intent to promote child pornography.

According to the probable cause affidavit for Jimenez's arrest, on September 13, 2022, Sgt. Hillary Lyon, an investigator with the Criminal Investigation Division Child Exploitation Unit assigned to the Texas Attorney General's Office, led an investigation into several cyber-tipping scams. Twitter revealed that one of its users was selling or promoting child pornography on its platform. Google also provided information about its user possessing or promoting child pornography on its platform. After acquiring and reviewing these files, it was determined that the images were indeed child pornography within the meaning of the law.

Jimenez, who was 16 when the investigation began, was identified as the suspect and the owner/operator of both the Twitter and Google accounts.

Jimenez admitted to selling, promoting, viewing and possessing child pornography during an on-site inspection of his cell phone, investigators report, where several files containing child pornography were located.

After a full digital forensic examination, several files containing child pornography were found on Jimenez's phone, further details the allegation.
