The highest drafted Ohio State football wide receivers in NFL history

The NFL Draft is set to begin this week and Marvin Harrison Jr. could become Ohio State's most drafted wide receiver.

Harrison, the Biletnikoff Award winner who forfeited his remaining college eligibility to enter the draft, will receive the award if he goes in the top five as expected.

Here's who he could surpass on a list of the Buckeyes' most drafted receivers since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970:

11. Brian Robiskie, 36Th overall, 2009

Robiskie was the Cleveland Browns' early second-round pick, reuniting him with his hometown team. He grew up in Chagrin Falls and spent several years as a ball boy while his father was an assistant at Cleveland.

10. Anthony Gonzalez, 32nd overall, 2007

After skipping his senior season to enter the draft, Gonzalez landed with the Indianapolis Colts, who took him with the last pick of the first round after their victory in Super Bowl XLI. Injuries ended his career when he retired in 2012.

9. Michael Jenkins, 29Th overall, 2004

Jenkins spent seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons after they drafted him late in the first round.

8. Santonio Holmes, 25Th overall, 2005

Holmes was acquired by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who traded picks with the New York Giants to move up seven spots. Four years later, he caught the game-winning touchdown for Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLIII.

7. Jaxon Smith-Njigba: 20Th total 2023

A hamstring injury sidelined Smith-Njigba for most of his junior season, but he became Ohio State University's third receiver in two years in the first round when he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks.

6. Chris Olave: 11Th total 2022

Olave was acquired from the New Orleans Saints, who traded the No. 16 overall pick and others in the third and fourth rounds to the Washington Commanders. He had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in New Orleans.

5. Garrett Wilson: 10Th total 2022

Wilson was the Buckeyes' first receiver in 15 years to be selected in the first round and made an immediate impact with the New York Jets, who drafted him at the bottom of the top 10. He was the 2022 offensive rookie of the year according to the Associated Press after catching 83 receptions for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns.

4. Ted Ginn Jr., 9Th overall, 2007

Ginn's selection by the Miami Dolphins was a bit of a surprise, as they passed on Brady Quinn, the former Notre Dame quarterback and Dublin native. Ginn, an electric returner and receiver, spent 14 seasons in the league before retiring in 2021.

2. Joey Galloway: 8Th overall, 1995

Galloway became the first receiver from Ohio State to be ranked in the top 10 when he was selected by the Seahawks. Of former Buckeyes, only Pro Football Hall of Fame member Cris Carter finished his career with more receiving yards in the NFL than Galloway, who totaled 10,950 yards in 16 seasons in the league.

2. David Boston, 8Th overall, 1999

Consistent with Galloway's selection four years earlier, Boston was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals and spent seven seasons in the league. He had two 1,000-yard seasons for Arizona and led the NFL in rushing in 2001 when he caught 98 passes for 1,598 yards and eight touchdowns.

1. Terry Glenn, 7Th overall, 1996

A year after Galloway cracked the top 10, Glenn, the Buckeyes' first Biletnikoff Award winner, moved up one pick when he was snapped up by the New England Patriots. As a rookie, he immediately started with the Patriots when they reached Super Bowl XXXI. Only Carter and Galloway totaled more yards in their careers than Glenn, who finished with 8,823 yards in 12 seasons.
