Support student media at Texas A&M

Battalion staff members Bobby O'Brien, Megan Williams and Noah Van Est prepare for the Friends of the Battalion Alumni Tailgate at Aggie Park on Saturday, September 2nd.

Want to support the student media experience at Texas A&M?

By supporting student media, you help our students and the student organization:

-Participate in local, state and national conferences to network with industry experts, attend journalism training and participate in valuable competitive experiences
-Pay freelancers for their writing, design, photography, video, graphics, and social media contributions to help with their living expenses, college expenses, etc.
– Procurement of smaller equipment items such as SD cards, batteries, and other photo/video equipment that our team needs for storytelling and reporting throughout the year

There are three different ways you can help The Battalion newspaper and website, the Aggieland Yearbook, and Maroon Life magazine through our student media outreach. We have been incredibly fortunate to have such loyal, generous donors and supporters at our side over the past few years.

Donation Method #1 – Friends of the Battalion Facebook Page and Website!

You can donate to improve the student media experience at Texas A&M through Friends of the Battalion, a group of former journalism students, student media staff and supporters of student media at A&M. This nonprofit 501(c)(3) group focuses on providing students with necessary tools and some stopgap solutions, as well as working toward the long-term sustainability of student media at A&M. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a tax receipt. Supporters will also receive a battalion t-shirt and supplies. If you would like a t-shirt, please specify the size when making your donation.

Their website is fast, user-friendly, and provides immediate assistance with the needs of student journalists through Texas A&M Student Media.

Battalion sports editors Luke White (left) and Hunter Mitchell (right) speak with ESPN's Paul Finebaum on his daily SEC-focused talk show, which airs for four hours Monday through Friday.

Donation Method #2 – Support our Student Newspapers Online website through The Batt Online!

With our news website, The Batt Online, through Student Newspapers Online, we have made it extremely easy to donate toward our annual website/hosting costs to create our award-winning state and national digital news website.

Our annual fees are around $2,000. Therefore, offsetting these costs so that we have the revenue to continue printing our weekly, award-winning battalion newspaper is critical to recognizing the tradition of distributing the weekly battalion newspaper on campus, but increasing efforts are being made to ensure a comprehensive, regular and timely reporting about our website and our offers.

To donate, visit any story on www.thebatt.com and go to “Donate to the Battalion” at the bottom of the page and select “Donate” to make your contribution today.

Donation Method #3 – Want to know exactly what our creators need? Visit our Amazon Student Media Wishlist!

If you would like specific examples of the technology and equipment our student creatives need for their work and reporting purposes, please visit our Amazon Wish List and consider making a purchase donation to help our photographers, videographers, designers and others.
