“I'm here for it. I'm excited.”

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro suffered a rare technical foul in Saturday's Game 3 loss to the Boston Celtics.

It was given after Herro threw the ball to the Celtics' Sam Hauser. Herro responded to Hauser pushing him to the ground during a drive. Herro talked to Hauser for a few seconds from across the field.

“Just part of the game,” Herro said of the incident. “It’s competitiveness.”

Herro's actions were probably the deciding factor in the way the Celtics defended him in this series. They use a more physical approach to slow him down because they know he is under more pressure.

Herro is now the Heat's top scoring option with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro out due to injuries. Neither is expected to return this season, leaving the offensive burden on Herro and Adebayo.

While Adebayo is averaging 21.6 points on 55 percent shooting, Herro has struggled with inconsistency in three games. With a shooting rate of 38 percent, his average value is just 16.6 points, both of which are below his season average. His only productive performance came in Game 2, when he led the Heat with 24 points and 14 assists, the highest of his career.

Herro knows the Celtics are trying to beat him, but he's up to the challenge.

“They do a lot of different things off the ball,” Herro said. “I'm just holding on to my jersey, holding a lot of stuff. Ultimately it's competition. It will make me better. It will make our team better. But I'm here for it. I'm excited. Let's move on.
