Fans have a lot to say after watching Ben and Erin Napier's True Test of Marriage

If you work on DIY projects with your significant other, chances are you've had a disagreement or two over time. HGTV stars Ben and Erin Napier have been married for 15 years. They are parents of two small children and work together on renovating old houses. So it's safe to assume there was a fight or two between them.

The couple recently joked about the “true test” of their marriage in a promotional video for their HGTV series. hometown, and fans of the show found her so relatable.

The behind-the-scenes clip shows Ben and Erin hanging curtain rods on a sunny porch during a recent episode. For the typically even-tempered couple, the project brought with it some drama. Ben had one of the pieces backwards and Erin dropped a bracket from the ladder and screamed, “No! No! No!”

Ben explains, “You know the true test of a marriage is painting a room together.” Erin chimes in and they say at the same time, “No, they're hanging curtains.” She accuses her husband of having “twisted the rod in hatred” and said: “If you can do it without cursing, you will do it.”

HGTV shared the video on Instagram with the caption, “When hanging curtains is the ultimate test of your marriage… 😬” Erin shared it on her Instagram Story and wrote, “Find out if our marriage survives this Sunday night 😄.” “

Fans jumped into the comments section to express their condolences and the overwhelming response to the “true test” of a marriage is hanging wallpaper! One wrote: “My husband and I don’t hang wallpaper together. Or not at all. The one time we did it was almost a throw down!” and another said, “Wallpapering. My husband isn't allowed near me while I'm wallpapering. I prefer he not even be in the house❣️” Other popular answers include installing ceiling fans and assembling IKEA furniture.

Of course, longtime fans of Ben and Erin know it's all in good fun! Still, we'll be tuning in to HGTV on Sunday night to see how it all plays out.
