Prajwal Revanna's driver, BJP chief negotiate charges over leaked sex videos | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: Prajwal Revanna's former driver Karthik and BJP chief G Devaraje Gowda have engaged in a blame game over JD(S) Hassan MP's leaked alleged sleaze videos. The controversy caused significant embarrassment to the regional party and led to Prajwal's suspension.

The Karnataka government has formed a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of IPS officers headed by Additional Director General of Police BK Singh to probe the alleged sexual harassment of several women by Prajwal, who is currently believed to be in Germany. An FIR has been lodged against Prajwal and his father Revanna at Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district for allegedly sexually harassing their former cook.

He mentioned that he had sought justice from G. Devaraje Gowda as he was in conflict with the Deve Gowda family. Devaraje Gowda contested the 2023 general elections from Holenarasipura constituency on the BJP ticket and was defeated by Revanna.

In a video message on social media, Karthik claimed that he had worked with Prajwal Revanna for 15 years but distanced himself from him a year ago due to personal reasons. “The reason (for distancing myself from Prajwal) was that my land was taken away and my wife was beaten up ),” Karthik said in the message. He approached G. Devaraje Gowda to seek justice as the BJP leader had fought against the Deve Gowda family.

Karthik claimed that he had shared a copy of the photos and videos with Devaraje Gowda and trusted that he would use them to lift a stay order obtained by Prajwal Revanna to prevent publication of the objectionable content. Karthik, however, alleged that Devaraje Gowda misused the material and denied sharing the videos and photos to Congress leaders or anyone else.

Devaraje Gowda, on the other hand, denied the allegations and said that Karthik was associated with Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Hassan constituency, Shreyas Patel. He argued that neither the JD(S) nor the BJP would release the videos as it would be against the NDA alliance candidate.

“If there was anyone who benefited from this, it was Congress. Just for his political gain, the Congress candidate (Shreyas Patel) has mortgaged the modesty of the women featured in the videos,” said Devaraje Gowda. He added that he was waiting for a communication from the SIT and would then release important documents. The BJP leader also alleged that Congress leaders were falling into the trap they had laid for others.
