John Mulaney returns to Netflix for a “weirdly offbeat show,” a six-part live series centered around a major event in Los Angeles.

“John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's In LA,” due out this week, is part of the annual “Netflix is ​​a Joke Festival” taking place May 2-12 in Los Angeles.

The festival is expected to feature more than 300 performances by comedians and celebrities at more than 35 venues. The comedy fest will feature some of the industry's best-known artists over 11 days, including Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld.

Not only will Mulaney perform his own set live at the famed Hollywood Bowl, but he'll also bring the hilarious scenes to audiences much further afield.

Described by Netflix as a “weirdly offbeat show” with special guests and field features, “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's In LA” capitalizes on the big gathering with six live episodes that follow the comedian as he “explores the city of Los.” Angeles during a week in which every funny person is there.

When does John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's In LA premiere?

John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's In LA premieres its first episode on Friday, May 3 at 7pm PT. The remaining five episodes will stream nightly from May 6-10, also at 7:00 p.m. PT.

John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's In LA is exclusive to Netflix and will only stream on the platform.

What is “Netflix is ​​a joke festival”?

“Netflix is ​​a Joke Festival” is a “star-studded comedy festival” produced by Netflix in collaboration with Live Nation.

From May 2-12, it will feature over 300 live stand-up shows, special events, table readings, skits and more at many of LA's most iconic venues, such as the Hollywood Bowl, the Orpheum Theater and the Laugh Factory.

The list of comedians and celebrities participating is long, including David Letterman, Kevin Hart, Jon Stewart, Wanda Sykes, Kumail Nanjiani, Nick Kroll, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Jim Gaffigan, Maya Rudolph and Jerry Seinfeld. Non-comedians like Tom Brady and Los Angeles Dodger Will Smith will also perform.

Mulaney will perform a stand-up show at the Hollywood Bowl on May 4 as part of the festival.
