Video forecast for Wednesday evening

After reaching 90° for the first time this year, temperatures will decline amid some disruption. However, this will only be temporary – warmth will return to the area over the weekend.

Tonight and tomorrow: Although the sky will be mostly clear in the first few hours of the evening, clouds will increase until Thursday morning. We'll wake up to cloudy skies and warmer overnight lows early Thursday. In the capital, temperatures will bottom out at around 70°C. A few patches of fog are possible, although a light southeasterly breeze appears to be just strong enough to allay fog fears.

More clouds will accompany us on Thursday. That will help push highs back into the mid-80s. A weak disturbance will bring scattered to isolated showers and storms to the region. The chance of rain increases around midday and continues into the afternoon. It's a good idea to have rain gear on hand. However, be aware that it will not rain everywhere. In some places it may even rain.

Next: There will be further unrest on Friday, bringing more showers and storms. This time the chance of rain is highest in the morning. There may be persistent storms in the afternoon, but this activity is closely related to the morning's progress. For example, a stormier morning would stabilize our atmosphere and prevent the afternoon round.

Cloud cover and rain will depress temperatures for another day on Friday. However, after that all bets are void. Highs will return to the upper 80s over the weekend and climb into the lower 90s next week. There will be a lot of humidity and the chance of rain is also limited.
