Jerry Seinfeld Reminds Angry 'Unfrosted' Crew Member: 'This Is a Pop-Tart Movie'

No tantrums for you!

That was Jerry Seinfeld's message to an angry crew member on set Unfrostedhis directorial debut about the invention of the world's most popular toaster pastry.

At the Netflix comedy's red carpet premiere (streaming May 3), the His field Mastermind told Weekly entertainment how he defused a tense situation during the film's production by reminding everyone not to take themselves too seriously.

“There was a moment where someone on the crew lost their temper really badly and started screaming really loudly and everyone froze,” Seinfeld said. “It was one of those 'losing' moments that amazes everyone.”

How did he handle the situation? “I said, 'Everyone stop it,'” the comedian-turned-filmmaker recalled. “I say, 'This is a Pop Tart movie, we're not going to freak anyone out. None of this matters.' And everyone laughed and we just got back to work.

Seinfeld directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Spike Feresten, Barry Marder and Andy Robin. Unfrosted chronicles the great breakfast pastry war of 1963, in which Kellogg's and Post Office competed to see who would be first to bring a poppable pie to market.

An irritable crew member wasn't the only problem Seinfeld faced on the project. During a recent one Tonight's show Seinfeld called Hugh Grant, who plays actor Thurl Ravenscroft in the film, “a pain in the ass to work with.”

“We had a lot of fights,” Seinfeld joked. “Before you work with him, he tells you, 'You're going to hate this.' And he is so right.

The two eventually found a friendly relationship, and Grant even joked to EW that he had a “grrrrreaaat” long time making the film and portraying Kellogg's mascot Tony the Tiger. “Jerry brings different things to the table,” he added. “He's a brilliant comedian and he's written a great script. He and his team are able to massage the scene all the time and come up with new jokes left, right and center. He was nice and gave me a lot of support.”
