Monumental Sports Network will broadcast the Hershey Bears 2024 playoff games

Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) and WPMT FOX43 announce a partnership to broadcast Hershey Bears playoff games during the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs for the American Hockey League (AHL) championship on the local media platform. The broadcast schedule includes all games during the Atlantic Division semifinal series against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, beginning Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Possible future games will be announced later. The Hershey Bears are looking to win their second straight championship after defeating the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the Calder Cup final last year.

“We are excited to bring back our partnership with Hershey so fans in the DMV area can watch the Bears attempt to defend their title,” he said Caitlin Mangum, vice president of content and programming at Monumental Sports Network. “With the Mystics season soon coming to an end and the Calder Cup Playoffs, NWSL and Major League Rugby on our air, it will be an eventful spring and summer on Monumental Sports Network.”

The broadcast partnership will provide live game coverage and provide access to the Calder Cup Playoffs to the more than three million subscribers in Monumental Sports Network's broadcast territory, which stretches from Delaware to Richmond, VA. The voice of the bears Zack fishwill call the action along with analysis from the AHL Hall of Famer Mitch Lamoureuxformer Hershey Bear and Washington Capitals forward Garrett Mitchelland FOX43 sports director Todd Sadowski. Broadcasts will be available to local hockey fans on both linear television (on MNMT or overflow channel MNMT2) and via Monumental's digital streaming platform within the network's reach. Fans can watch the games via their pay-TV subscription on linear television, at monumentalsportsnetwork.com or by downloading the Monumental streaming app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV and with an eligible TV Everywhere login .

For fans without a pay TV subscription, Monumental Sports Network offers direct-to-consumer (DTC) subscription memberships for viewers who want to access Monumental Sports Network's live and on-demand programming. In August 2022, Monumental Sports & Entertainment acquired full ownership of NBC Sports Washington from Comcast/NBC Universal. The channel rebranded to Monumental Sports Network in September 2023 with new programming. In addition to owning the local broadcast rights to the NHL's Washington Capitals, the NBA's Washington Wizards and the WNBA's Washington Mystics, Monumental Sports Network also broadcasts live college basketball, college football, college volleyball, high school basketball , Esports and Men's and Women's Washington Spirit (NWSL) and Old Glory DC (Major League Rugby) games.
