Former NBA player Darius Morris dies at age 33

Former NBA player Darius Morris died at the age of 33, the sporty one'S Shams Charania reported on Saturday (May 4th).

Morris spent four seasons in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets, averaging 3.3 points, 1.4 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 132 games.

“Four-year NBA veteran Darius Morris has died at the age of 33. Morris played for the Lakers, 76ers, Clippers, Grizzlies and Nets from 2011 to 2015,” Charania wrote on his X account.

Morris was selected 41st overall by the Lakers in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft and made two starts in four appearances in the 2013 NBA Playoffs, including a game-best 24th in a Game 3 loss to the Lakers Points of his career were scored by the San Antonio Spurs and all 17 of his regular seasons began in the same year.

Morris signed with the Sixers before the 2013-14 season and appeared in twelve games, including scoring a career-best 20 points in the NBA regular season in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans in November 2013 before being released and two 10-day contracts with the Clippers in January 2014. The former University of Michigan star signed a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies in February 2014 before being traded by the RIo Grand Valley Vipers in March 2014 the then NBA D-League was taken over.

Morris signed with the Brooklyn Nets in December 2014 before being released the following June.
