David Warner is one of the most selfless people I have ever met: Jake Fraser-McGurk

New Delhi, April 4, 2024: Young power-hitting duo Tristan Stubbs and Jake Fraser-McGurk had a candid conversation about their bond during golf sessions IPL Experience, aggressive gameplay, future ambitions and much more in Episode 2 (Season 4) of the DC Podcast.

First impression and bonding while golfing

“I didn’t know anything about him, but he knew my life story,” Stubbs revealed.

Fraser-McGurk said: “I remember my first thought: He's a little bigger than I imagined. I thought it would be a little smaller, but it's a pretty big unit. He’s been fine so far.”

“We play (golf) for internationals. Whoever loses has to buy the other person an international game. We had some close games but it shouldn't be close because technically I should be the better golfer because of my handicap but he played quite well,” the Australian batsman said on who was a better golfer.

Meanwhile, Stubbs added: “He’s a better golfer. He has a head start. I'm a fiver. He should beat me by five strokes every time.”

The IPL experience

Fraser-McGurk said: “The differences of actually being there, seeing it from an outside perspective and hearing about it kind of blended together quite nicely. I just didn't have any expectations of playing a game, but doing it. “Being able to play now is great.

Stubbs explained: “It took me a while to get used to the hype and the pressure. I've really enjoyed a lot of things off the field this year, which is always nice.

Joining forces with idol David Warner

The 22-year-old Australian also spoke about his connection to the Delhi Capitals' opener David Warner. He said: “He (David) is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. He always has time for everyone. He wants to help you around the clock. In every hotel he was always two rooms away from me.” . I just go to his room every morning and drink coffee.

“He’s more Indian than Australian. I tell him that. That's what I say. I say he is 70% Indian and 30% Australian,” he added.
