Wilton Singers presents “A Night At The Movies!” May 3-4

This May the Wilton Singers offer a joyful and memorable musical journey with memorable and entertaining songs from a variety of popular, award-winning films. “A Night at the Cinema” is a mandatory event.

The audience hears well-known hits from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Moulin Rouge, The greatest showman, The Lion King, Slumdog Millionaire, Amistad, and more. Classic favorites are also offered in new, breathtaking ways, including “Shenandoah” and “Come What May.” Even songs from top contemporary films such as: The Barbie Movie And Pitch perfect will be introduced.

pianist Lisa Bettke, a Wilton High School graduate and former madrigal singer, will accompany the group. Bettke also works as an accompanist and conductor Fairfield Children's Choir. drummer Robert D'Angelo and bassist Rodger Bryan also join The Singers as well as guest instrumentalists from the choir itself.

The show's producer, Patty Taylora long-time member of the Singers and Brewster Central School District K-12 Performance Art Coordinator – shares, “We couldn't be more excited to present this special, diverse program honoring the films we loved and their unforgettable songs that enriched our lives.” It really is an exciting and joyful music festival that combines the love of film with the beauty of music by top composers of our time.”

Wilton pairs, Ed and Jan MacEwen And Al and Jan Galletly was co-founder of The Wilton Singers in 1983. The group continues to consist of over 40 singers who represent many different cultures, areas, industries and locations and all share a love of making music together.

The Wilton Singers are committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, and a deep respect for cultures around the world. Her musical selections then reflect her love of music from countries and cultures worldwide. They also reflect the ever-increasing interests of the audience and the singers.

Ticket sales begin April 13th for $40 and can only be purchased online. Doors open at 7:15 p.m and the concert starts at 8 p.m At May 3rd and 4th. There are cabaret-style tables for seating. Bring your own dinner and drinks to enjoy before the show… popcorn is provided!

The Wilton Singers is a 501c3 organization that offers adults the opportunity to sing in small ensembles to support the Wilton High School Choral Programand to promote interest in choral singing within the community. Concert proceeds support two scholarships awarded each spring to Wilton High School graduates. These strong students demonstrate musical leadership skills in the WHS choral program.
