Blake Lively has embraced the hiking boot trend

The hiking boot trend is going strong, as Blake Lively proved in New York City yesterday.

On Wednesday afternoon, the actress was spotted running errands wearing a simple, comfortable outfit: a white, long-sleeved Henley top and bold, loose-fitting striped blue pants. To keep the look functional, she completed the ensemble with brown lace-up hiking boots from Chanel.

Lively's rare paparazzi moment follows the recent launch of Betty Buzz, her line of alcohol-free foam mixers. The actress said she started the new drinks brand – named after her family members – because she was looking for light, refreshing mixers with more natural ingredients.

“I do not drink. I know this is strange coming from the wife of an infamous gin dealer,” Lively said in a statement to the brand, also referring to her gin-loving husband Ryan Reynolds. “In recent years of mixing cocktails but not drinking them, it has become clear that mixers are the unsung heroes of the drinks world and deserve just as much love as alcohol.”

Although Lively and Reynolds have been careful to maintain their privacy, the two were spotted together in New York City's Tribeca neighborhood a few weeks ago as they strolled through the neighborhood. For this outing, Lively opted for a white and navy plaid dress paired with a long navy cardigan and white boots, and wore her hair braided in a loose side braid. Reynolds looked earthy next to her in a white button-down shirt with olive green studded details and matching pants.

Beyond business ventures and trolling each other on Instagram, the Hollywood couple has dedicated themselves to advocating for civil rights causes. Earlier this month, they announced they would donate more than $1 million to the American Civil Liberties Union and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund for a social justice fundraiser.
