The script for Fall Guy 2 already exists, but the first film needs to be a hit – Film News | Film-News.co.uk

Ryan Gosling has revealed that a sequel to The Fall Guy has already been written.

The 43-year-old actor plays veteran film stuntman Colt Seavers in the new comedy alongside 'Oppenheimer' actress Emily Blunt, 41, and he confirmed that the cast and crew were keen to find out what happens to the couple from a different script, but the success of the first film will determine whether the second will ever see the light of day.

In a recent interview with Fast Company, Gosling said, “The sequel basically wrote itself.”

“We already know [the story] intimate. We just hope that people like this film enough to continue telling the story of these characters. We love her so much and we love this world and I’m confident we can do it.”

He continued, “We – I mean, we love these characters so much that we wanted to know what happened to Colt and… just for ourselves.” [Blunt’s character] Jody after the end of the film?

“What’s the next phase for them? And we know exactly what it is. Hopefully the audience will want to know too.”

The film only grossed $28.5 million in its opening weekend, but it is still very popular and scored points on Rotten Tomatoes in the early 80s.

Meanwhile, Gosling and Blunt shared how the Barbie star saved the Devil Wears Prada actress from a monsoon while filming in Australia – while casually mediating.

Emily told Entertainment Weekly: “Yes, this story is ridiculous. To be fair to Ryan, I hadn't realized that a monsoon had reached base camp. At this point I was having a little 22 minute meditation for myself. My door flew open. It was like a hurricane was raging and Ryan said like the last of the Mohicans, “You have to go!” I was meditating and now he thinks I'm meditating too much.

Gosling replied: “I thought you were too relaxed. That's a problem! You’re too relaxed wading in this knee-deep water.”

Blunt continued: “The followers floated away. I was surprised that my driver, Scott, hadn't come and knocked on the door and said, 'We should go.' Scott was listening to Spotify.

Gosling said: “I think he was washed away. I only saw his hands above the surface of the water.”

Blunt concluded: “All I remember from that day is Aaron Taylor-Johnson.” [Tom Ryder] He took off most of his clothes and ran around the base camp in the water. He was still very much in character. Just a normal day on set in Australia. We went to Australia for the weather, and that's exactly what we ended up finding.
