'Extraordinary' Chelsea player who didn't play against West Ham is now in the running to start the next game

Chelsea could add another star to their squad for their next Premier League game, according to reports.

Mauricio Pochettino welcomed a number of injured stars back into his ranks for the London derby against West Ham United and the feel-good factor continued throughout the 90 minutes.

Chelsea won 5-0 against their rivals, with Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson starring in attack.

Perhaps the most positive moment for some fans at Stamford Bridge, however, was the return to the first team of some players who had been out for an extended period.

Both Malo Gusto and Christopher Nkunku came on for cameo appearances, suggesting their availability could boost Pochettino's options for the final three games of the season.

Levi Colwill in the running for the next Chelsea game

One player who was on the bench yesterday but was not used was Levi Colwill, who is out for a large portion of 2024 with a toe injury.

Although he was not risked yesterday, the Evening Standard have now reported that he is in line for the next game against Nottingham Forest.

Hudson-Odoi is passionate about Nottingham Forest

The Blues' opponents next Saturday will be eager to secure their place in the Premier League for next season and will no doubt be buoyed by the fact that former Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi is in full swing.

Depending on the results around them, there is a serious chance that Chelsea can secure a place in the Europa League for next season, which looks like an achievement given the position they found themselves in at the start of this season.

It has also been claimed that it could be a necessity for Pochettino to keep his job, with reports suggesting the owners have demanded the Europa League due to this season.
