Cinq Music Acquires Flow La Movie Music Catalog Including “Te Boté”

Cinq Music has acquired Hitmaker's music catalog Flow La Movie, billboard can announce. The late producer's extensive catalog includes the reggaetón megahits “Te Boté” and “La Jeepeta” – the former surpasses it billboard's Hot Latin Songs for 14 weeks in 2018. The catalog acquisition comes nearly three years after Flow La Movie (born José Angel Hernández) died in a plane crash at the age of 38 and at the peak of his career.

In 2016, Flow founded his record label, where he developed then-upcoming artists Nio García and Casper Mágico. Both singers participated in the catalog sales made possible by Flow La Movie's estate, now managed by his daughter. Keigelyan Hernandez according to Cinq Music in collaboration with GLAD Empire (the indie label's distributor). The deal also comes after a complex legal battle – over contracts and music related to Flow La Movie – ended in 2022 when a global settlement agreement legally named Hernández the sole representative of her father's estate.

About the catalog acquisition, President and co-founder of Cinq Music Barry Daffurn, says: “Reggaetón has been a core element of our DNA since the founding of this company. I remember the day “Te Boté” was released and how the remix catapulted itself into a global phenomenon. We all mourned the loss of José and are honored to continue his legacy by adding his catalog to our storied portfolio.”

He added: “Cinq is committed to honoring his life’s work and preserving his remarkable legacy. We have great respect and admiration for him and his family and look forward to building on the special place he holds in the hearts of music fans around the world.”
