Here is a photo of Google CEO Sundar Pichai from the IIT days that is going viral

An unseen photo of Google CEO Sundar Pichai from his IIT days is causing a stir on the internet. The photo was shared by X user (formerly known as Twitter) Ananya Lohani, the daughter of one of Pichai's classmates at IIT-Kharagpur, and dates back to 1993 during Pichai's IIT KGP convocation.

“My father just shared this picture of his IIT KGP convocation (1993) with him, Sundar Pichai and Sharmistha Dubey in the same picture. This is absolute madness,” Lohani wrote in her post. As mentioned, the post has gone viral and has received over 7,000 views so far.

In the photo, Pichai is sitting next to Sharmistha Dubey along with other classmates. Dubey was the only female classmate in her class. She is an Indian-born American and the former CEO of Match Group, which owns popular dating apps such as Tinder and OkCupid.

Several X users responded to the post. “This is absolutely epic,” one user commented. “What a match! Just google it,” another commented.

A third wrote: “This reminds me of the “Papa log bhi IITIAN hote hai” dialogue in the Kota factory. But your father must be proud of that. Are you still in touch?”

“No way, you might have the highest recommendation Google has ever seen xD,” another user commented.

Sundar Pichai was born in 1972 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He earned a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and graduated from Stanford University with a Masters in Materials Science and Engineering. He joined Google in 2004 and became the company's CEO in 2015.
