Purdue, Indiana Sports Corp and USA Swimming present USA Swimming LIVE during the US Olympic Team Trials – Swimming in Indianapolis

Fanfest brings Boilermaker excitement to the Circle City, just days before the grand opening of Purdue University in Indianapolis

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Old gold and black will be among the red, white and blue this June when Indianapolis hosts the US Olympic Team Trials – Swimming for the first time since 2000. Purdue University is partnering with Indiana Sports Corp and USA Swimming to present USA Swimming LIVE, a nine-day outdoor fanfest and tailgate hub during the Trials, March 15-23. June.

The partnership comes just days before the July 1 opening of Purdue University in Indianapolis – a new, urban expansion of its flagship West Lafayette campus – and underscores Purdue's commitment to the city and state. At the same time, it offers participants the opportunity to learn more about Indiana's only country estate. Scholarship institution and one of the top ten public universities. The free, daily event includes live musical performances, food, drinks and more from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. along Georgia Street in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Four Boilermaker student-athletes – Brady Samuels (100 meter butterfly, 100 meter freestyle), Coleman Modglin (200 meter breaststroke), Masy Folcik (100 meter breaststroke) and Kate Mouser (400-meter individual medley) – have qualified for the trials and are fighting for the chance to win gold in Paris. Jan-Anders Mansson, CEO of Purdue's The Ray Ewry Sports Engineering Center, named in honor of the record-setting track and field Olympian and College of Engineering graduate, will once again play an important role during the Summer Games. Mansson is chairman of the Approval Committee for the World Aquatics, which is responsible for inspecting swimming materials used in the Olympics.

Dozens of other Purdue alumni, from the engineers who build the 860,000-gallon pools at Lucas Oil Stadium to the volunteers who teach 50,000 people how to be water safe, play a central role in spreading Purdue's impact far to expand beyond the boundaries of our campuses.
