Apple unveiled new features for the iPad on Tuesday during the tech giant's “Let Loose” event, which CEO Tim Cook called “the biggest day for the iPad since its launch.”

Tuesday's announcements included a new iPad Air and iPad Pro, each in two sizes, as well as upgrades to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, new Magic Keyboards and a new Apple Pencil Pro.

Tuesday's event is separate from Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which takes place online June 10-14 and where the company typically unveils new features and updates for its operating systems and devices.

All new products can be ordered today and will be available next week.

In addition to the new products and features, Apple announced that the 10th generation iPad now costs $349.

Here's what you should know about the new iPads and accessories.

  • iPad Air: Like the other Apple products announced on Tuesday, the new iPad Air is available to order now and will be released next week.
  • iPad Pro: Apple said both sizes of the new iPad Pro are available to order now and will be released next week.

New iPad prices

iPad Air: The redesigned 11-inch iPad Air is priced at $599 and the 13-inch iPad Air is priced at $799.

iPad Pro: The new 11-inch iPad Pro costs $999, while the 13-inch model costs $1,299.

iPad Air features

Both the 11- and 13-inch sizes are available in the new Blue and Purple colors, as well as the existing Starlight and Space Gray finishes. They have storage starting at 128 gigabytes, but also offer 512 GB and 1 TB options.

The 13-inch size has a landscape front camera and faster Wi-Fi.

The new iPad Air works with both the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil and features the updated M2 chip.

iPad Pro features

The 11-inch model is 5.3mm thick and weighs less than a pound. The 13-inch model is 5.1mm thick, making it the thinnest Apple product ever released and a quarter of a pound lighter than its predecessor.

The front camera has been moved to the edge in landscape orientation on both sizes and both options are available in silver and space black.

The new iPad Pro will feature a display with two OLED panels, which Apple calls Tandem OLED. It also includes the M4 chip, a jump from the M2, which Apple says is “four times faster” than the previous iPad Pro.

Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard prices

In addition to the new iPad Air and Pros, Apple also announced a new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro that can be used on both the iPad Air and Pro models.

The Magic Keyboard has been redesigned to be thinner and lighter and is available in two colors to match the iPad Pro. It also includes a feature row and a larger trackpad. The keyboard costs $299 for the 11-inch model and $349 for the 13-inch model.

The new Apple Pencil Pro features a sensor in the pen barrel for new interactions, including the ability to press it to bring up options on iPad. If lost, it can now also be located using Apple's Find My app. Like previous Apple Pencils, it magnetically pairs, charges, and stores on the side of the iPad. It costs $129.
