WHERE: On the beach in Wildwood

WHO HOLDS THE EVENT?: Trump's presidential campaign

TICKETS: donaldjtrump.com

ROAD CLOSURES: No road closures have been announced so far. During the Trump rally in 2020, the blocks surrounding the Wildwoods Convention Center were closed to traffic.

Designated protest area: A designated protest area has been set up at the Roberts Avenue beach.

How did we get here?: The Wildwood Board of Commissioners approved an agreement between the city and the Trump Organization for the April 15 rally.

TRUMP'S SOUTH JERSEY SUPPORTERS: U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-2nd, who is running for re-election this year, said he remains close to Trump. Elected as a Democrat, Van Drew switched parties, became a Republican and pledged his support to Trump in the White House in 2019.

TRUMP'S STORY IN WILDWOOD: In January 2020, before the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were felt across the United States, Trump's visit to the Wildwoods Convention Center on the Boardwalk – a rare visit by a sitting president to southern New Jersey – drew thousands to the winter beach resort. Twelve hours before the event started, people were lining up to get in.

WHAT’S AT STAKE IN NEW JERSEY?: Van Drew has suggested that the rally could have an impact on Pennsylvania, usually considered a swing state, and New Jersey, which has not supported Trump in previous elections. He said recent polls show the gap is closing in traditionally blue New Jersey.
