Just in time for Mother's Day, Searchlight Pictures released the first poster for Night slut, a film adaptation of Rachel Yoder's novel of the same name starring Amy Adams. The film's tagline is: “Motherhood is a bitch.”

What is it Night slut around?

The official logline states that Adams plays a woman who is “thrown into the domestic routine of raising a suburban toddler and slowly embraces the wild power deeply rooted in motherhood while giving her the bizarre and undeniable “We are becoming increasingly aware of signs that she may be turning into a dog.”

So yes, it's about a woman who thinks she's turning into a dog.

Who is in the cast of Night slut?

Adams plays the main character, Scoot McNairy plays her husband. The rest of the cast includes Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Emmett James Snowden, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Archana Rajan and Jessica Harper.

The film is directed by Marielle Heller, who also wrote the film adaptation of Yoder's debut novel. Heller won a 2015 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature The Diary of a Teenage Girland she compared the projects when it was announced she would be directing.

“Rachel Yoder’s book took my breath away,” Heller said. “I haven't felt this way about a book since I read it The Diary of a Teenage Girl many years ago. Rachel's darkly comic story of motherhood and anger made me feel seen. And adapting to Amy Adams helped me get through the pandemic.”

Night slut is produced by Heller, Adams, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Christina Oh and Stacy O'Neil.
