The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is scheduled to begin this weekend, marking the 148th edition of the country's second-longest continuously running sporting event.

More than 2,500 dogs from 213 breeds will compete for the title of Best in Show, a title that hunting dogs have won for the past two years. Last year, Buddy Holly, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, won the title, becoming the eighth hound in the competition's history.

Terriers are the historic favorite, with 47 of them taking home Best in Show over the years. However, they haven't had a single one since 2019, and if the last two years of wins are any indication, then it's anyone's game.
