Trend Micro presents its 2023 annual cybersecurity report: 73 million threats blocked in Egypt

Egypt, May 13, 2024: Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global cybersecurity leader, today announced the results of its 2023 Annual Cybersecurity Report, revealing that the company has blocked more than 161 billion threats, a significant annual increase An increase of 10% compared to last year's global figures, it issued a warning noting that attackers are using increasingly sophisticated techniques to target smaller numbers of victims, potentially resulting in greater financial gains.

Trend Micro's 2023 annual cybersecurity report, “Calibrating Expansion,” is a compelling reminder that in today's dynamic cybersecurity landscape, organizations must take a proactive approach to managing risk across the entire attack surface. Additionally, the report found a 349% year-over-year increase in email malware detection worldwide. In contrast, detections of malicious and phishing URLs decreased 27% year-over-year. Cloud app access posed the greatest risk: Trend's Attack Surface Risk Management (ASRM) recorded nearly 83 billion access attempts.

In Egypt, Trend Micro has demonstrated its cybersecurity strength by effectively blocking and detecting over 73 million threats. This impressive number includes stopping over 18 million email threats and over 2 million malicious URL victimization attacks. Additionally, Trend Micro has identified and stopped more than 8 million malware attacks, demonstrating its expertise in protecting digital assets and networks across the Middle East.
