Assassin's Creed fans aren't just in for a treat with Ubisoft's pipeline of Brotherhood-focused projects, as the touted Red title has finally received an official name and logo, debuting Assassin's Creed Shadows. As if that wasn't enough, the logo reveal seemingly confirms past leaks regarding the main playable characters.

The official theatrical trailer for the world premiere of Shadows is scheduled for May 15th and begins in the fan-favorite setting of feudal Japan. Stealth is believed to play an important role in this title, with combat and map size similar to Valhalla. However, when it comes to playable characters, Shadows' logo unintentionally reveals reinforced previous information that highlights the two protagonists on offer.

New rumors suggest that Assassain's Creed: Codename Hexe could take the franchise in a completely different direction.

Yasuke and Naoe seem to be confirmed as protagonists of Assassin's Creed Shadows

Since Red's announcement, several leaks have suggested that Yasuke, a real-life African samurai, is the protagonist, accompanied by shinobi Naoe, who will reportedly serve as a playable female protagonist.

Since these characters were previously the preserve of the rumor mill, Shadows' logo reveals additional credibility to a previous leak that showed the entry's main menu. The leaked image of the title screen (which has since been removed by Reddit) showed not only the now official logo, but also the heads of a samurai and a shinobi on either side, as well as the “Select Character” menu option with “Naoe” highlighted.

With the logo matching what was seen in the leak, fans are now convinced that Yasuke and Naoe are indeed the playable protagonists of Assassin's Creed Shadows, and both characters are expected to be officially confirmed in the world premiere trailer .

This will be a first in the history of Assassin's Creed, in which the protagonists are based on historical figures in addition to NPCs. Yasuke is said to have been a slave by sea when he survived an ambush and was later put into the service of Oda Nobunaga to train as a samurai. Naoe, on the other hand, is based on the real Iga Jōnin's daughter, Fujibayashi Nagato.

With Ubisoft bringing these real-life characters to life, it suggests that other real-life characters are also rumored to be included in the narrative, including Nobunaga, Akechi Mitsuhide, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Ashikaga Yoshiaki, Akechi Hidemitsu, and more.
